Painting
Oil painted saturated skies and layered textured landscapes on wood allow a world of escapism to explore human relationships and strength. From a female perspective I express stories of our natural desire to clan together as we nurture, worry with, and carry each other along. Scenes of the fight for survival build confidence out of my self-fear that I do not possess these traits. The heat and glow of the sunsets radiating over nature in collapse offer an aura of beauty with a looming uncertainty of our ever-changing atmosphere. Hope is captured and carried on through the figures as they adapt and meld with their new world as the light to survive is not extinguished.
